Cool tool: Windows Live Writer

I just discovered a nice wysiwyg blogpost writer: Windows Live Writer. It’s made by Microsoft, it’s still in beta (!), it’s free (!!), but it works pretty good (!!!). Read more about authors on Wikipedia.

Here’s a screenshot:

Check it out; it could save you some time.

The Web Preview feature is wonderful: you can see a preview of your post exactly as it will appear when published. Really well done!
Also the image handling is cool: it handles uploads, alignment and resize.
And other nice options too (trackbacks, keywords, pings, comments, etc.)

I would have appreciated if it was more advanced.  For example, adding buttons to insert template html inside my post, I would use <pre></pre> blocks, or another useful usage could be embedding videos. Or, better, a feature to add buttons for any kind of custom html. Another nice feature could be a “pretty print” for the html view, for people that want to trick the generated code.
There’s a SDK also; I should check for that. Or, just hoping that any MSFT guy will notice this post and will implement this on final version ;-)
