Changing the MAC Address on Linux and Windows

In our working environment it happens quite frequently that the wireless router make some mess and you have to change your MAC address to get access to the network again.

On Windows I was using MAC Makeup tool.
On Linux no tool is needed. Just write at the terminal:

sudo ifconfig wlan0 down hw ether 00:11:22:33:44:55
sudo ifconfig wlan0 up

Where wlan0 is the wifi adapter alias, and 00:11:22:33:44:55 is the desired MAC address

That’s it.
