The Watchdog Engine

Sometime ago I wrote a watchdog against SSH login attacks. After that simple class, I started working – actually not much! – on a more flexible and configurable watchdog engine. But nothing came out so far.
The codebase is short and quite good I think, and I was implementing that using TDD approach (only on the engine), since the beginning.
I recently took back that sources to implement an automated moderation engine for a friend that manages a public forum on the web. That moderation engine was just a stuff to be completed quickly, so I didn’t wrote any automated test; shame on me! But, my friend is enthusiastic of the result, so yesterday night I started to isolate components (not finished yet) and made a maven based build for the project.

The result is that I just put online the project website.

I think I’ll take back the security logs monitoring idea and create a new module for the watchdog, to be used as real application for the watchdog engine, or as example on how to write custom watch dog for different purposes.
